The Netherlands is the European part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is a densely populated country located in Western Europe, with three small island regions in the Caribbean. The widespread name came from the region of the Netherlands, which contains only two of the twelve provinces of the State of the Netherlands. The country is surrounded by the North Sea, Belgium and Germany.
